Matthew 6:21 Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will be also. (NLT)

In this section of the Sermon on the Mount Jesus is dealing with wealth (treasure) and our attitude towards it. In essence, He is speaking about our perspective in regards to these matters. True worship affects every aspect of our lives, even how we view material treasures. Jesus is rearranging the order of things and He is challenging his listeners to labor and live for eternal wealth. He is introducing the idea that by our life, our choices, we can store treasure in heaven; and, in this heavenly account it is eternally protected. Why is this important? Because Jesus understood a person’s desires follows their treasure.

Have we allowed Jesus to rearrange the order of things in our life? Or, are we still pursuing that which cannot satisfy? This a change of perspective! Ask the Lord to change your perspective today. To help you start laying up treasures in your heavenly account. Remember, all of this is in the context of verse 33 of this same chapter: “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things will be added unto you.” (KJV)

Prayer: Father, help my perspective to change to the way that You view things. Help me to seek Your kingdom first and that my treasure and wealth would be found in You. Amen.

Continue to pray for the hearts that are coming to GT Worship Conference.
